Chester-le-Street Riverside Fireworks – 3 November

Chester-le-Street Riverside Fireworks is back on 3 November with a Magical Family Movies theme featuring a spectacular fully choreographed fireworks display accompanied by songs from family movies including The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen and many more.

The event will once again feature a whole host of entertainment for all the family with a funfair, food and refreshments, a fully licensed bar and character meet and greets.

The event takes place at Riverside Park in Chester-le-Street with gates opening at 4pm and the show beginning at 6.30pm. Tickets are available from riversidefireworks.co.uk at £5.50 and children under 7 go free.

Getting there

Getting to Riverside Park is easy by bus with the Coast & Country 78/78A routes passing every 30 minutes during Sunday afternoon from Sunderland, Shiney Row, Chester-le-Street Town Centre and Stanley. Buses then run hourly during the evening to take you home.

Riverside Park is also just a 5-10 minute walk from Chester-le-Street Front Street, with frequent buses on the Angel 21 from Newcastle, Gateshead, Low Fell, Birtley and Durham as well as local bus services from Ouston, Grange Villa and Waldridge.


Money saving tickets

  • Family Day Ticket – only £12 and covers up to two adults and three children up to 16. A minimum of one adult and one child required.
  • 5 to 25 fares – great saving for everyone aged between 5 and 25, as well as our £1.20 fare for those aged under 19. ID required for anyone who is or looks 16 and over.
  • Adult fares – from £5.30 a day, or just £4 if you're just travelling in our Chester-le-Street Go Local Saver zone. Single and return tickets also available.
