Closure of North Approach in Chester-le-Street from 5 March 2017

A closure of the North Approach in Chester-le-Street will be in place in 3 phases for road resurfacing, between 7am and 7pm each day.


Phase 1 - Sunday 5 until Tuesday 7 March
During the first phase, the North Approach will be closed between Pelton Fell Road and The Avenue/Whitehill Way. There will be no alterations to services 34 and 34A.


Phase 2 - 
Wednesday 8 until Friday 10 March
During the second phase, Whitehill Way will be closed south of North Approach. Services 34 and 34A will run on the opposite sides of the road around the Second Avenue and Bullion Lane loop and will not serve any stops on The Avenue or Whitehill Way during phases 2 and 3.

  • Service 34 to run via Front Street, West Lane, Waldridge Road, Mendip Avenue, Grasmere Road, Redesdale Road, Waldridge Road, Second Avenue, Bullion Lane, South Approach, Waldridge Road and Front Street.
  • Service 34A to run via Front Street to West Lane, Waldridge Road, South Approach, Bullion Lane, Second Avenue, Waldridge Road, Redesdale Road, Grasmere Road, Mendip Avenue, Waldridge Road to Front Street.


Phase 3 - Saturday 11 March
During the third phase, The Avenue will be closed south of Whitehill Way. Services 34 and 34A will run as they did during phase 2.
