Roadworks and diversions affecting Go North East buses

Services 50 and 56 at Severn Houses from 19 August until 19 October

The A1290 Washington Road will be closed between Severn Houses and Cherry Blossom junction from Monday 19 August until Saturday 19 October for extensive road and flood repairs.

Buses unable to to serve stops at Severn Houses or west of Cherry Blossom Way. Use stops on Cherry Blossom Way south of Washington Road (Unipress).

Services 9, 39 and 60 at Ryhope Road from 12 until 21 September

Due to emergency works, Ryhope Road will be closed southbound from the Toll Bar Junction from Thursday 12 to Saturday 21 September.

Buses will be unable to serve southbound stops on Ryhope Green or Ryhope Road between The Village and Toll Bar. Please use stops at St Paul's Church on Ryhope Street South.

Services 13, 14, 40 and 40A at North Road in Durham from 20 until 24 September

Due to works on North Road outside of the bus station, the northbound side of North Road will be closed from Friday 20 to Tuesday 24 September.

The southbound bus stops opposite the bus station will also be suspended during this time to allow southbound traffic to flow normally.

For services 13 and 14 to Langley Park and also 40/40A towards Cathedral or Freemans Place, please use Stand A in Durham Bus Station.

Services 9, 26 and 27 at Hebburn on 16 and 17 September

Hedgeley Road, including Campbell Park Road roundabout, will be closed on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 September, between 9.15am and 5pm each day, so services 26 and 27 will be unable to serve Hebburn Centre or Hedgeley Road.

Only service at Hebburn is the 9 - please use towards Jarrow to connect with 26 and 27 for South Shields, or towards Mill Lane to connect with 26 and 27 for Gateshead & Newcastle.

Services 26 and 27 at Hebburn on 18 September

2nd stage of closure involves the eastern section of Hedgeley Road, which will be closed between Campbell Park Road roundabout and Black Road for resurfacing from 9.15am to 5pm on Wednesday 18 September.

Buses will be unable to serve stops at eastern end of Hedgeley Road, please use stops on Victoria Road East or Campbell park Road (north end).

Services 9, 26 and 27 at Hebburn on 19 and 20 September

Hedgeley Road, including Campbell Park Road roundabout, will be closed on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 September, between 9.15am and 5pm each day, so services 26 and 27 will be unable to serve Hebburn Centre or Hedgeley Road.

Only service at Hebburn is the 9 - please use towards Jarrow to connect with 26 and 27 for South Shields, or towards Mill Lane to connect with 26 and 27 for Gateshead and Newcastle.

Service 5 at Jarrow from 20 until 26 September

Hedworth Lane at Jarrow will be closed for resurfacing works between Kirkstone Avenue and Calf Close Lane/The Greyhound public house between 9.15am and 5pm for five working days commencing Friday 20th (no weekend works) until Thursday 26 September.

During these times, buses will be unable to serve stops on Hedworth Lane, Kirkstone Avenue or Roman Road - please use stops on Calf Close Lane.

Services 21 and X22 at Newcastle Road between Pelaw Bank roundabout and Highfields on 22 September

Newcastle Road will be closed between Pelaw Bank roundabout and Highfields to finalise the resurfacing works between 7am and 3pm on Sunday 22 September.

Buses will be unable to serve stops on Newcastle Road at Chester-le-Street. Customers at Highfields to use stops on Park Road North, whilst those closer to Chester-le-Street town centre, use stops on Front Street.

Services 26 and 27 at Hebburn on 23 September

The final part of resurfacing involves the eastern section of Hedgeley Road again, which will be closed between Campbell Park Road roundabout and Black Road for resurfacing from 9.15am to 5pm on Monday 23 September.

Buses will be unable to serve stops at eastern end of Hedgeley Road, please use stops on Victoria Road East or Campbell park Road (north end).

Service 9 at Truro Avenue in Murton from 23 September until January

The works at Truro Avenue at Murton will now take place from Monday 23 September until approximately mid-January 2020.

For the remainder of this year, service 9 will operate normal route to Mann Crescent then at the bend, will divert left at the cream houses to Treen Crescent and Tregoney Avenue and right to normal route at Penryn Avenue.

Buses will be unable to serve stops on Truro Avenue and Bude Square, please use either Mann Crescent or Penryn Avenue stops.
