Roadworks and diversions affecting Go North East buses

Services 50 and 56 at Severn Houses from 19 August until 8 November

The A1290 Washington Road will be closed between Severn Houses and Cherry Blossom junction from Monday 19 August until Friday 8 November for extensive road and flood repairs.

Buses unable to to serve stops at Severn Houses or west of Cherry Blossom Way. Use stops on Cherry Blossom Way south of Washington Road (Unipress).

Service 9 at Truro Avenue in Murton from 23 September until January

The works at Truro Avenue at Murton will now take place from Monday 23 September until approximately mid-January 2020.

For the remainder of this year, service 9 will operate normal route to Mann Crescent then at the bend, will divert left at the cream houses to Treen Crescent and Tregoney Avenue and right to normal route at Penryn Avenue.

Buses will be unable to serve stops on Truro Avenue and Bude Square, please use either Mann Crescent or Penryn Avenue stops.

Service 58A at Swing Bridge in Newcastle from 7 October until 8 November

The Swing Bridge will be closed each night from 10pm to 6am from Monday 7 October until early November.

Buses will be unable to serve Newcastle Quayside or Dean Street.

Services 60, 202, 238 and 265 at Seaham on 21 until 25 October

Due to resurfacing works on North Railway Street in Seaham Harbour from Monday 21 to Friday 25 October, buses will be diverted via North Terrace and Tempest Road.

Services 16, 78, V5, X15, X31, X70, X71 at Leadgate Cross Roads from 26 October

Due to works and Watling Street being closed there is no access to Leadgate Front Street. Customers should use stops at Aged Miners Homes at Watling Street to access village centre.


Service 208 at Easington Village on 26 October

Seaside Lane in Easington will be closed between 7am and 7pm on Saturday 26 October for resurfacing.

During this time, service 208 will be unable to serve stops at the eastern end of Seaside Lane, Holme Hill Estate, Colliery Offices, Station Road/Station Hotel, Grant's Houses, or Roosevelt Avenue.
