Service changes from 4 September 2016

There will be changes to a small number of services taking place in September. A summary of the changes is below, along with the new timetables.

Changes from 4 September

South Tyne 88/88A

In April 2016, we made some change to the timetable of service 88/88A to improve reliability. However, we know it still isn’t reliable as you need it to be. Therefore there will be some further adjustments to the service from 4 September.

The service will no longer use Inverness Road in Brockley Whins, instead the service will operate direct along Edinburgh Road and Perth Avenue. Any passengers from Inverness Road are able to continue to use service 88/88A from Perth Avenue, or catch Stagecoach service 18 and change buses.

There will some small changes to the times of the service to reflect this amended route.

Venture V7 & V8

New Venture services V7 and V8 to Metrocentre have proved popular since being introduced in October 2015. Therefore, we are adding some extra journeys in the service to make it easier for you to travel. These journeys are:

  • Monday-Friday service V8 from Stanley at 6.52am will now run all the way to Metrocentre.
  • A new journey will be added on service V8 departing Metrocentre at 5.55pm for Stanley.

There will also be some changes to the times of the services to improve reliability.

Castles Express X21 & X46

Due to changes in travel arrangements by Bishop Auckland College, the X21 will no longer serve Bishop Auckland College, with all journeys now terminating at Bishop Auckland Bus Station.

The journey on service X21 at 7.57am from Durham to Bishop Auckland, and service X46 at 7.24am from Crook to Durham will now operate all weekdays (excluding public holidays).

There are no other changes to the timetable.

Quaylink Q3

With the opening of new roads in Great Park, the route of service Q3 in Great Park will be amended from 4 September.

The service will operate a one-way loop, operating from Brunton Lane bridge via Sir Bobby Robson Way, Park and Ride site, Waggonway Drive and Roseden Way back to Brunton Lane Bridge.

This will improve access to local facilities and for residents living around Roseden Way.

There will be a small change to the times of journeys departing Great Park. There is no change to the rest of the timetable.
