Buses for Beyoncé – 28 June at Stadium of Light

You don’t have to be Crazy in Love or a Single Lady as everyone’s welcome on our buses for Beyoncé's Stadium of Light concert on Tuesday 28 June.

X0 – your special Beyoncé service from Newcastle

Travelling to the Stadium of Light from Newcastle couldn’t be easier with X0 – leaving from Bewick Street, opposite Newcastle Central Station and running non-stop to the Stadium of Light. Buses leave Newcastle at 15.00, 15.30, 16.00 and then every 20 minutes (at 00, 20 & 40 mins past the hour) until 18.40 to whisk you to the show. Our buses leave from the Wheatsheaf, close to the Stadium of Light for your journey home.

A single fare on X0 is £4, with a return costing only £5 or you can buy our Beyoncé DaySaver for £6 on the Go North East app and travel on any Go North East bus all day.

Go North East Buzzfare and Get Around tickets can be used on this service, but concessionary passes and Network One tickets won’t be valid.


Getting there

All our buses will run on their usual routes before the concert and will continue to stop on Kier Hardie Way or at the Wheatsheaf in Sunderland. Our 9, 20/20A, 35A and 56 all stop on Kier Hardie Way or at the Wheatsheaf, which are only a short walk from the entry areas to the Stadium of Light.

Our 2/2A, 38C, 39, 60, 61 and 78/78A all stop in Sunderland City Centre, where you can change onto a bus serving the Stadium of Light or walk across the Monkwearmouth Bridge.


Getting home

We'll be running extra buses after the concert to get you home in comfort and safety – here’s your list of bus routes, times and where to catch your bus from.

2 Grangetown, Hollycarrside, Tunstall Village & Silksworth Buses will leave from opposite Sunderland Winter Gardens at 10.44pm, 11.14pm & 11.44pm.
2 Hastings Hill, Penshaw, Shiney Row & Washington Extra buses will leave from the Wheatsheaf stop, close to the Stadium of Light.
9 East Boldon, Jarrow & North Shields Buses will leave from North Bridge Street (close to the Stadium of Light) at 10.25pm & 10.55pm for all stops to North Shields and 11.25pm for all stops to Jarrow.
20 East Herrington, Houghton-le-Spring, The Raintons & Durham Extra buses will leave from the Wheatsheaf stop, close to the Stadium of Light, with a bus also leaving Park Lane Interchange at 10.29pm for all stops to Durham
20 Cleadon, Harton Nook & South Shields Buses will leave from North Bridge Street (close to the Stadium of Light) at 10.12pm, 10.42pm & 11.12pm for all stops to South Shields.
35A Castletown, Boldon Asda & Heworth Buses will leave from North Bridge Street (close to the Stadium of Light) at 10.21pm & 10.51pm for all stops to Heworth & at 11.21pm for all stops to Boldon Cineworld.
35A Silksworth, Newbottle, Houghton-le-Spring, Hetton-le-Hole & Low Moorsley Buses will leave from the Wheatsheaf stop (close to the Stadium of Light) at 10.45pm for all stops to Low Moorsley and 11.15pm for all stops to Houghton-le-Spring.
39 Chester Road, The Broadway & Pennywell Shops Buses will leave from outside Sunderland Winter Gardens at 10.45pm & 11.15pm.
39 Ryhope, Tunstall Village, Doxford Park Shops & Moorside Buses will leave from opposite Sunderland Winter Gardens at 10.24pm, 10.54pm & 11.24pm.
56 North Hylton Road, Concord, Wrekenton, Gateshead & Newcastle Extra buses will leave from the North Bridge Street stop, close to the Stadium of Light.
60 Ryhope & Seaham Parkside Extra buses will leave from the Wheatsheaf stop, close to the Stadium of Light, with buses also leaving Park Lane Interchange at 10.27pm, 10.57pm & 11.27pm for all stops to Seaham Parkside.
61 Ryhope, New Seaham & Murton Buses will leave from Park Lane Interchange at 10.07pm & 11.10pm for all stops to Murton.
78/78A Shiney Row, Great Lumley, Chester-le-Street & Stanley Buses will leave Park Lane Interchange at 10.10pm for all stops to Consett and 11.10pm for all stops to Chester-le-Street.

The extra buses will depart from their stops at approximately 11pm, subject to the concert finish time.


Saving you money

Travelling on the bus is great value, with all day travel in Sunderland starting at just £3.60 and you can buy your ticket from your bus driver, or if you're travelling from further afield you can save with our Beyoncé M-Ticket - available on the Go North East app from 14 June.

Young people can save with Get Around – travel all day for only £3.75, plus if you’re under 18 you will only pay 90p per journey on our buses.
