Carrying David – guide and competition
Carrying David is a sensational comedy drama from Wisecrack Productions about two brothers – one fighting for boxing glory, the other fighting for his life!
On 3 June 1989 at The Louisa Centre in Stanley, Glenn McCrory re-wrote boxing history when he became the Cruiserweight Champion of the World – the very first world boxing champion from the North East.
Written by Ed Waugh, this emotionally driven production reflects on the highs and many lows of Glenn's unrelenting drive to become world champion and is inspired by the love of his terminally ill brother, David.
The show is touring the region and there are still tickets available – view Wisecrack Productions' website for ticket information.
- Tyneside Irish Centre, Newcastle – 31 May and 1 June
- Alun Armstrong Theatre, Stanley Civic – 3 and 4 June
- Playhouse Whitley Bay – 6 June
- Hartlepool Town Hall – 7 June
- Westovians South Shields – 8 June
