Tall Ships Race in Blyth | 26-29 August

The Tall Ships Race comes to Blyth Quayside from Friday 26 until Monday 29 August and we’re running extra 309 journeys to make your trip easier.

Up to 30 of the largest and most spectacular Tall Ships from around the World will sail into Blyth for a fantastic four day spectacular over the August Bank Holiday weekend. There will be lots to see and do with over 1.5 miles of entertainment, food and drink plus the stunning Tall Ships in situ along the Quayside. You can also enjoy live music, grand parades plus a nightly firework display (Friday to Sunday) at 9pm.

With hundreds of thousands of visitors expected over the weekend and parking very limited, getting the bus is a great way to get you to the heart of the action. Our Cobalt Clipper will be running every 15 minutes during the day on Friday and Saturday, with buses running every 30 minutes on Sunday and Monday from Newcastle to Blyth. We’ll also be running extra evening journeys on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the fireworks displays plus buses will run every 15 minutes between Whitley Bay and Blyth on Sunday daytime.

The Cobalt Clipper is great value too – travel all day for only £3.95 or why not try our Family Ticket for only £12.50 and up to 2 Adults and 3 Kids can travel together all day on any Go North East bus. With free customer WiFi and next stop announcements on the Cobalt Clipper you can surf whilst you travel and you won’t miss your stop!
