Press release -

Improvements to Coast Road services from Sunday 26 March

From Sunday 26 March, we will be working in partnership with Arriva North East to deliver improvements to the Coast Road 309, 310 and 311 services.

Buses will be revised to operate up to every 5 minutes along the Coast Road, in conjunction with the Arriva 306 and 308 services, and up to every 10 minutes between Blyth and North Tyneside Hospital.

Joint ticket acceptance has been agreed so that you can use your ticket on any bus regardless of who runs it – this means that if you buy a return ticket with us on a morning, you can travel home on an Arriva bus on a night, and vice versa!

There will be some changes to the routes:

  • New service 307 will replace services 310 & 311, running between Newcastle and North Shields, serving Coast Road, High Farm, Battle Hill, Hadrian Park and Cobalt South.
  • Service 309 will additionally run via High Farm.

Service X39 will continue to run at peak times, providing fast and direct links between Newcastle and Cobalt. Arriva tickets will not be valid on these special express journeys.
