The region’s biggest bus company, Go North East has welcomed its first female apprentice in two decades, to embark on its unique bus and coach mechanical and electrical engineering apprenticeship.
Hand-picked from over 500 applicants, Melissa Millington, joins six new recruits in the company’s most recent apprentice intake. Melissa will undertake training and development alongside Go North East
From 6 January 2019, there will be some minor amendments to services 42/42A due to the upcoming roadworks around Benton Asda.
During Monday-Saturday daytimes, the service will no longer run to Wallsend Metro. There will be minor changes to the timetable to allow for the revised route, and to improve reliability.

To commemorate the fallen who have lost their lives in battle, the region’s largest bus operator, Go North East, has introduced a number of poppy-themed features across its services, on the lead up to Remembrance Day and in celebration of the centenary of World War One.
