Closure of South Burns in Chester-le-Street from 15 May

From Monday 15 until Wednesday 17 May, South Burns at Chester-le-Street will be closed. 

During the closure, services 8, 8A, 28, 28A, 36, 78 and 78A will use alternative stops. 

South Burns stops J, K and L will relocate to North Burns as temporary stands J, K and L, with buses turning at Tesco roundabout. Service 36 will divert from Emirates Riverside via A167 and Picktree Lane, dropping passengers for Front Street off on the way out towards Lumley.

  • Stand J - 8 and 8A to Sunderland
  • Stand K -  8, 8A, 78 and 78A towards Stanley
  • Stand L - 28 and 28A towards Newcastle
