Go North East’s commitment to making bus travel more appealing to families and tourists has been recognised at Monday’s (23rd April) VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2018, after the region’s largest bus operator claimed the silver award for Innovation in Tourism.
As part of its bid to have the UK’s greenest bus fleet and following its continued investment in new vehicles and technology, Go North East is trialling the region’s first fully electric zero-emissions bus.
At its annual Excellence Awards, which showcases the UK’s finest marketing talent and sector innovators, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) named Go North East’s commercial director Stephen King, ‘Marketer of the Year’.

In support of an epic charity adventure aiming to create 1million free hospital journeys for cancer patients, the region’s biggest bus operator, Go North East has joined forces with long-term partner ScreenServices NE to drive awareness and inspire local communities to contribute to the cause.
Around 175,000 journeys are made on Go North East bus services every day to travel around this wonderful region. Travelling to work or education, to visit friends and family, to have a night out, or to visit one of the region's many tourist and leisure attractions.
