Bus operators from across the North East of England will be holding a public engagement event, including activities for people of all ages, as the launch of ‘NEbus’, the new name for the region’s bus operators’ association, takes places on Wednesday (28 August) in Times Square at Newcastle’s Life Science Centre.
Go North East, the region's largest bus company, and Gateshead College, the best performing college in England for post 16 education and training, have received a royal seal of approval for their unique Bus Driver Routeway training programme in this year’s Princess Royal Training Awards.
Most buses will run to Sunday timetables on Monday 26 August, with the exception of services X66 and X88 which will run to special timetables.
As the World's Transplant athletes head to the North East, their journeys to their training and competition sites has been made easier thanks to a partnership with Go North East.

The current bus stops at Market Place, Chapter Row, Keppel Street and Denmark Centre will be closed. This means the route buses take in South Shields will change, along with the stops which are served.
